Introduction to advanced study in graphic narrative and theory; thematic topics include the contemporary graphic novel, graphic autobiography, the history of comics, and comics journalism.
Prereq: 9 cr hrs at the 3000, 4000, or 5000-level in English, or permission of instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 9 cr hrs.
Slavic, American, and British sci-fi on page and screen as reflection of major cultural concerns: progress, utopia, human perfectibility, limits of science and knowledge, gender, identity. Taught in English.
