Professor and Chair of DSEELL, Helena Goscilo has authored or (co-)edited more than twenty volumes, the most recent being Putin as Cultural Icon and Celebrity (2012), Celebrity and Glamour in Contemporary Russian Culture: Shocking Chic (2011), Cinepaternity: Fathers and Sons in Soviet and Post-Soviet Film (2010), and Preserving Petersburg: History, Memory, Nostalgia (2008). She has written on posters, prison tattoos, women’s fashion, funerals, beauty parlors, and Russian rock. Her courses in pop culture include Russian film, sci-fi, vampirism, and fairy tales.
