Elizabeth Hewitt teaches courses in American literature and culture from the 17th through the 21st centuries. Her primary scholarly interests are in human systems of communication and exchange (like mail and money), and she is the author of Correspondence & American Literature (Cambridge University Press, 2004). She is currently at work on a project about literary style and finance. Because she likes rules, she also admires genre fiction and regularly teaches courses on True Crime and Science Fiction.
